Photos and on-device processing

Taleaf accesses only the Apple Photos items you permit. It uses photo dates, available locations, image characteristics, and on-device Apple Vision analysis, including text and QR-code clues, to help you browse and organize. Photo indexes, analysis, and original-resource comparisons are processed locally. Taleaf does not send your photos or analysis to a cloud AI service, advertising service, or developer-operated server. Your originals remain in Apple Photos; Apple’s own iCloud Photos settings are independent of Taleaf.

Optional private iCloud sync

If you turn on sync, chapter metadata, user-written notes, photo reference identifiers, review metadata, and book appearance preferences are stored in your Apple account’s private CloudKit database to make them available on supported devices signed into that account. Taleaf does not upload original photos, visual-analysis results, or pending actions that would change Apple Photos. Apple provides the service under its own privacy terms. We do not operate a server for reading your private archive.

Your choices and deletion

You can restrict or revoke Photos access in Settings. Turning sync off retains existing local and cloud content. Account changes pause synchronization. Temporarily unavailable photo references and edit history can remain so offline edits can be reconciled; selecting a version does not erase prior versions. You can remove the app’s cloud data through iCloud storage management. Removing the app removes its local data, but does not delete your Apple Photos originals or necessarily remove cloud data. Photos deletions require your explicit review and system confirmation; Apple Photos Recently Deleted is the system recovery path.

Purchases, analytics and tracking

Taleaf is free to download, with an optional non-consumable in-app purchase for lifetime access. Apple handles payment details. StoreKit verifies purchase entitlements on your device. There is no subscription. The app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK and does not track you across apps or websites. Apple may provide developers with aggregated store statistics and diagnostics under your Apple settings.

Website and support

This site uses Cloudflare hosting. Network information needed to deliver pages, such as IP address and request metadata, may be processed by Cloudflare under its policies. We do not add advertising cookies or analytics scripts. If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use this information to respond and resolve the request, retaining it only as needed for that purpose and applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion. Please do not send original private photos, passwords, or Apple account credentials.
